{"id":2025,"date":"2020-02-23T11:54:39","date_gmt":"2020-02-23T10:54:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/?p=2025"},"modified":"2025-01-20T12:35:13","modified_gmt":"2025-01-20T11:35:13","slug":"acherito-from-linza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/en\/acherito-desde-linza\/","title":{"rendered":"Acherito from Linza"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>(6h; 12.7 kms; 1070m)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Mallo de Acherito<\/strong> (2374m), in the Pyrenees of Huesca, is one of the most beautiful summits in <strong>the Western Valleys<\/strong>. Its pyramid-shaped summit makes it easily distinguishable from anywhere and attracts the gaze of mountaineers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the <strong>valleys of Ans\u00f3 and Hecho<\/strong> and peering into the circus of <a href=\"https:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/en\/lescun\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Lescun<\/strong><\/a>There are several starting points to climb this mountain, such as Linza, Guarrinza or the Masousa bridge. Perhaps the \"normal route\" is the one we have chosen, the one that starts from Linza and allows a circular route. You can reach Linza (refuge) by road from Zuriza and park there in a large car park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Route:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The route we are following (circular), ascends from <strong>Linza<\/strong> by the <strong>Paso del Caballo<\/strong>the <strong>Bear Pass<\/strong>the <strong>Plana de Diego<\/strong> and the <strong>Huerto de Acherito pass<\/strong> and down the <strong>Foyas del Ingeniero<\/strong> and the <strong>Petrechema ravine<\/strong>. In total <strong>6h<\/strong> and a positive difference in altitude of <strong>1000m<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/rutas\/rutas.php?&amp;ruta=acherito-linza\" allow=\"fullscreen\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>From <strong>Linza (1340m)<\/strong> we head for the gap (<strong>Horse Pass (1427m)<\/strong>) visible from the car park heading south. To do this, cross the stream and climb a steep path that shares the same route as the Camille Trail (green and yellow waymarks).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image wp-image-2066 size-full\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/01.jpg\" alt=\"Paso del Caballo\" class=\"wp-image-2066\"\/><figcaption><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">Paso del Caballo. Linza can be seen below.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Shortly after reaching the top of the pass, we leave the Senda Camille that descends towards the Gamueta forest. We follow to the left (a sign indicates Chinebral and Plana de Diego) below the rocky outcrop a path that climbs towards the <strong>Bear Pass (1637m)<\/strong>. The path runs through a small valley covered with beech trees and ends shortly before reaching the pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image wp-image-2067 size-full\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/02.jpg\" alt=\"Beech\" class=\"wp-image-2067\"\/><figcaption><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">Beech forest between Paso del Caballo and Paso del Oso.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <strong>Bear Pass<\/strong> There is a two-seater mini hut made of sheet metal that can be used for lunch or shelter from bad weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has an earth floor, a fireplace and a bench.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-full wp-image-2074\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/03.jpg\" alt=\"Hut. We opt for the one on the left that ascends to the pass and then turns to the right to ascend the pala-cresta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-full wp-image-2075\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/04.jpg\" alt=\"Crest. Bear Pass.\" class=\"wp-image-2075\"\/><figcaption><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">Ridge above the Bear Pass.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>At approximately 1840m, the trail heads towards the northern slope of the <strong>Chinebral de Gamueta<\/strong> to make a horizontal traverse that we find with icy snow, which forces us to put on our crampons. Here it is better not to slip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-full wp-image-2080\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/05.jpg\" alt=\"Chinebral de Gamueta\" class=\"wp-image-2080\"\/><figcaption><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">Frozen hillside at Chinebral de Gamueta<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>We arrived at the <strong>Plana de Diego (1900m)<\/strong>Here the snow is soft and we sink all the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-full wp-image-2083\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/06.jpg\" alt=\"Plana de Diego\" class=\"wp-image-2083\"\/><figcaption><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">Plana de Diego<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>We cross the <strong>Plana de Diego<\/strong>in the background we will see the <strong>Acherito (2374m)<\/strong>We climb without losing altitude towards the hill on the right, the <strong>pass of Huerto de Acherito(2169m)<\/strong>. The pass to the other valley is not here, it is the next one further south, here the pass has a 100m drop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image wp-image-2084 size-full\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/07.jpg\" alt=\"Acherito\" class=\"wp-image-2084\"\/><figcaption><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">Acherito. Path to the pass of Huerto de Acherito.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Only the final part is missing, we face it straight ahead and then to the left to join some tracks that go up from the valley shortly before reaching the ridge. We turn right, in some shady areas the snow is frozen and the slope exceeds 35\u00ba. With a bit of care we reach the narrow summit of the <strong>Mallo de Acherito (2374m)<\/strong>. The views are breathtaking in all directions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-full wp-image-2086\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/08.jpg\" alt=\"Peak of Mallo de Acherito.\" class=\"wp-image-2086\"\/><figcaption><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">Peak of Mallo de Acherito.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>We go down where we climbed up to the ridge, but now, instead of going towards the col, we go down towards the valley on the right, towards the <strong>Foyas del Ingeniero<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-full wp-image-2087\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/09.jpg\" alt=\"Foyas del Ingeniero\" class=\"wp-image-2087\"\/><figcaption><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">Foyas del Ingeniero<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The path goes down the <strong>Petrechema ravine<\/strong>The valley is quite shady and the snow is very hard up to an altitude of 1600m, so we have to wear crampons all the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-full wp-image-2088\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/10.jpg\" alt=\"Petrechema ravine\" class=\"wp-image-2088\"\/><figcaption><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">Petrechema ravine<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>At an altitude of 1420m we reach a flat area at the bottom of the valley, a meadow to which there is a path that can be climbed by off-road vehicles. Follow these tracks for half a kilometre until you come to a path on the right that takes you to <strong>Linza.<\/strong> On the way down we pass an area of picnic areas where there is a path adapted for wheelchairs.
