{"id":20918,"date":"2016-10-02T13:13:42","date_gmt":"2016-10-02T11:13:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/?p=20918"},"modified":"2019-10-02T13:27:27","modified_gmt":"2019-10-02T11:27:27","slug":"narrow-tip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/en\/punta-estremera\/","title":{"rendered":"Excursion from Formigal to Punta Estremera"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Punta Estremera gives us a balcony to look out over the Pyrenees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We start in the highest area of <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/en\/formigal\/\" target=\"_blank\">Formigal<\/a><\/strong>The path starts at the top of the hill, in the area close to the hotels. From the highest part there is a path that soon becomes a trail. We advance with Pe\u00f1a Foratata in front of us. Although it is not a very high mountain -2.341 m-, Pe\u00f1a Foratata dominates the\u00a0<strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/en\/tena-valley-in-three-days\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tena valley<\/a><\/strong>From the villages of Lanuza and Sallent, the view is impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/es.wikiloc.com\/wikiloc\/spatialArtifacts.do?event=view&amp;id=4762600&amp;measures=off&amp;title=off&amp;near=off&amp;images=off&amp;maptype=H\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We continue on our way and go around\u00a0<strong>Pe\u00f1a Foratata<\/strong>\u00a0We leave it to the right and continue on towards Pe\u00f1a Arafita - Pe\u00f1a ra fita or Pe\u00f1a de la Fita - if we are observant and attentive we may see the marmots scurrying about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Without going up to\u00a0<strong>Pe\u00f1a Arafita<\/strong>\u00a0we turn off to the right, pass through the<strong>\u00a0Collado Foratata\u00a0<\/strong>(2,030 m) in the direction of\u00a0<strong>old port of Sallent<\/strong>. From here we have a magnificent view of the peak. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Arriel (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/en\/arriel\/\" target=\"_blank\">Arriel <\/a>(2,824 m) and the <a href=\"https:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/en\/balaitus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Balaitus (opens in new tab)\">Balaitus\u00a0<\/a>(3.144 m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As soon as we cross the border into France, our steps lead us to the ascent to the\u00a0<strong>Estremera Peak\u00a0<\/strong>(2.165 m). As we ascend we can see very well, on French territory, the peak\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Peyreget (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/en\/peyreget\/\" target=\"_blank\">Peyreget <\/a>(2,847 m) and the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Midi D&#039;Ossau (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/en\/midi-dossau\/\" target=\"_blank\">Midi D'Ossau<\/a> (2.884 m). Once at the summit it is time to enjoy the landscape and the views from this natural terrace. We can see the Sarroyetas peak, Anayet, the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Vertex of Anayet (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/en\/anayet-apex\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vertex of Anayet<\/a>Portalet and Pena <a href=\"https:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/en\/telera\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Telera (opens in a new tab)\">Telera<\/a>. A good place to look out and contemplate the Pyrenees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The return journey is via the\u00a0<strong>Old port of Sallent<\/strong>which is perfectly signposted. Today's stage ends on the French road, in the area of <strong>Tourmont<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It has taken us some <strong>seven and a half hours<\/strong>including the stops. It is an easy route along a path, even the ascent to Estremera Peak is accessible to hikers with a minimum of preparation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Punta Estremera gives us a balcony to look out over the Pyrenees.
