It is one of the most watched in recent years, with climbing as its main theme. <strong>In 2019, it won the Oscar for Best Long Documentary Feature Film<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It tells the story of <a href=\"https:\/\/travesiapirenaica.com\/en\/alex-honnold\/\">Alex Honnold<\/a>considered one of the most successful climbers in the world and who, in addition, is<strong> expert in the integral solo modality<\/strong> (in English <em>Free Solo<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This discipline consists of climbing without any safety equipment or ropes. Honnold faces the challenge of climbing the 975-metre high El Capitan Mountain, located in Yosemite National Park (Mariposa County, USA) in order to become the first person to complete a Free Solo climb there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This challenge is an example of how impressive the struggle against oneself can be. It is also a recognition of the human capacity to overcome obstacles and a demonstration of the real power of effort and conviction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, Free Solo represents a <strong>excellent visual work. The photography and camera handling makes you feel like you are actually living the Honnold experience. <\/strong>as you can see the magnitude of the different mountains shown. In several of its scenes <strong>situations can be seen that cause an enormous level of anxiety in the spectator himself.<\/strong>The film, which fails to understand what is going on in Alex Honnold's head, has a level of suspense that captivates until the very last minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Third Man on the Mountain (1959)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Third Man on the Mountain was screened as a film in 1959, but was also seen on television from 1963 onwards. It is a classic film in which<strong> reaching the summit is the main goal, but when something more important happens, it is no longer the main goal.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rudi, an 18-year-old dishwasher in a hotel in Kurtal, at the foot of the Citadel mountain, is pursuing his dream of climbing. His father was a famous mountain guide who died helping an injured person after descending the Citadel. Since then, no one has gone to the mountain again because it is considered impossible to climb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rudi's uncle, who is also a guide, keeps an eye on him, but the young dishwasher always dreams of climbing this mountain and escapes to climb others nearby. On one of these escapades he hears someone calling for help and rescues him from a crevasse. That person is Captain Winter, who is exploring the mountain before climbing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From there, the plot turns towards the mountain. Rudi and his uncle, together with the captain and his guide, try to conquer the summit. This is accomplished by his uncle and Captain Winter. Rudi has to help the guide, who has had a fall, down. In the village it is recognised that Rudi was important in the climb to the Citadel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This story was written by mountaineer James Ramsey Ulman as 'A Flag in the Sky'.<\/strong> and shows the true spirit of mountaineering with more certainty than many other films do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The mountain between us (2017)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This film is<strong> based on the novel created by Charles Martin<\/strong>. The story is about the lives of two different people. Alex Martin is a reporter who, in order to get to her wedding, must take a flight from Salt Lake City to the East. On the other hand, Ben Bass is a doctor returning from a medical conference on the same flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the flight is cancelled due to antifreeze problems, the two passengers decide to charter a private flight. During the flight, the pilot suffers a heart attack and they crash land in an inhospitable mountain in the middle of Colorado.
