Situated between Aragon and Catalonia, this unique space is located next to the course of the Noguera Ribagorzana between the regions of La Noguera and Pallars Juss\u00e1. This site is one of the most spectacular to be found in Spain. Some say that it is the \"only gorge in virgin territory in Catalonia\". Both routes can be done in one day \"round trip\", although as there are different accesses, the route lends itself to a multitude of possible combinations. The two main accesses are: Montfalc\u00f3, which you reach via Viacamp, or La Masieta via the Monta\u00f1ana Bridge). The Montfalc\u00f3 to El Congost de Mont-rebei path links the uninhabited village of Montfalc\u00f3, in the Huesca region of La Ribagorza, with the La Masieta-Cor\u00e7\u00e0 section of the GR-1 \"Historical Path\" in the Lleida region of La Noguera. This path allows you to enjoy the spectacular limestone relief of the Montsec mountain range which, forged by the river Noguera Ribagorzana which acts as a natural border, divides this mountain into two: Montsec de L'Estall in the Aragonese part and Montsec d'Ares in the Catalan part, forming the Mont-rebei gorge. The path passes over two rocky outcrops and the Canelles reservoir, via wooden walkways anchored in the rock and a suspension bridge, respectively, whose construction has been made possible thanks to specialised work teams at altitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tramo_2_Congost_de_Mont-rebei\"><\/span>Section 2: Congost de Mont-rebei<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The so-called Congost de Mont-rebei or Mont-rebei gorge. This is the traditional path that runs through the gorge (<strong>GR-1<\/strong>). A 4 km walk in the mountains. The total duration of this itinerary is 2 hours one way and 2 hours return, a total of 4 hours. The path follows a gentle slope into the gorge. Its difficulty is low. It is very accessible as the route is very gentle. Only people with vertigo should take precautions on arrival at the gorge. The length of the route is 4 kilometres, which will take us 4 hours. If we wish, we can \"tune\" it, modify it, heading towards the Mare de D\u00e9u area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Otras_rutas_por_Montrebei\"><\/span>Other routes through <strong>Montrebei<\/strong>. <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Queixigar and the Altamiris viewpoint<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A route designed to be done in half a day. Itinerary of Queixigar and the Altamiris viewpoint. As characteristics we should think of a mainly ascending route. The approximate duration of the route is 3 hours and a half. It can be done in half a day without any problems. This route, which starts in the south car park, will take us to the gorge and we will go over the hanging metal bridge to finish climbing up to a plain passing through a forest. We will reach the Altamiris viewpoint. Then we will descend until we reach the next itinerary. Although the route is shorter, its difficulty is complicated by the ascent to Altamiris. Its complexity could be classified as medium. The total length of this path is about two kilometres. It starts at an altitude of 500m and ends at 900m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Obaga Gran and the Carboners<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Also designed to be done in half a day is the Obaga Gran and Carboners itinerary. The main characteristic of this route is that it crosses two ravines and ends up linking up with the previous route. This route will allow us to enjoy the passage through the Macana and Julianes ravines. Likewise, our circuit will allow us to enjoy a small halt where we will see some ruins. After this halt, we will go down, pass by some rocks from where we can see the whole shady area of the gorge and then cross the two ravines. The difficulty of this route is similar to that of route 2. The distance covered on this route is about 2.5 km. This route is the one that will take the least time to complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Alsamora to Altamiris via Obaga Gran<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the latest route to be added to the Mont-rebei catalogue of options. Itinerary from Alsamora to Altamiris along the Obaga Gran. This is the longest of all the routes we can do and is designed to be done over the course of a whole day. Our walk starts in the village of Alsamora and heads towards the gorge. We will cross several ravines in the shady area and we will reach the end of route 2. Not only the duration, but also the course of the route makes it the most difficult of the four routes.
