He was the \u201cPata Negra\u201d of the Valcorchero Club, a nickname earned not only for his age, but also for his experiences in the mountains, which he illustratively shared with the rest of the members, who accompanied him on the routes that were programmed every fortnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His knowledge encompassed everything concerning the elevations of the terrain due to tectonic forces, but he also taught about the climate of mountainous areas, alpine equipment, sports training adapted to age and proven skills, and a host of other subjects.

It was customary that on any mountain route that was complicated by adverse weather or other difficulty, he would be heard to say \u201cit looks bad\u201d, which was followed by safety remarks to avoid greater evils. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He quickly knew that it would take him a long time to get back to the mountain, when his advanced pupil, a fireman from his local fire station, told him \u201cit looks bad\u201d, after analysing his bad position in the crashed car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
