The forests that populate the Pyrenean area are characterised by the fact that they contain many spruce or black spruceAt lower altitudes, however, the variety of flora becomes increasingly noticeable until we find a mixture of chestnut, elm and even ash trees. The valleys, at a much lower altitude, give rise to a temperate climate that favours the appearance of very exuberant flora and fruit trees of all kinds, especially fig and cork oak trees, as well as aromatic plants such as thyme and lavender.

The steep slopes of a large part of the Pyrenees have favoured the conservation of the natural areas thanks to man's limited capacity for action. You will be able to see many completely unspoilt landscapes with rare animals and plants. The faunaThe area, one of the largest in Europe, is home to numerous endangered animals, such as grizzly bearsand many more mammals, such as deer and wild boar, and a wide variety of birds, such as golden eagles, kestrels and kestrels. bearded vulture.

In the low altitude areas of the Pyrenees you will be able to see species such as the capercaillie, as well as small birds such as the green woodpecker and the white partridge.

READ ALSO:

The art of the natural world: Mountain flowers in the Pyrenees >>>>>> The art of the natural world: Mountain flowers in the Pyrenees >>>>>

Flora of the Pyrenees >>>>

Mammals in the Pyrenees: refuge for wildlife >>>>

The Pyrenees mountain range runs along the border with France on the peninsula for more than 400 years....
"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

5
["post-6352","post","type-post","status-publish","format-image","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pirineos","post_format-post-format-image
https://travesiapirenaica.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/El-llano-de-la-Basa-de-la-Mora_by_Kom-bo_Flickr_760x500.jpg
https://travesiapirenaica.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Caratula-Podcast-Maldita-Montana_1500x1500_72pp-p_.jpg

Flora y fauna de los Pirineos

/*!
