It is not only used to make wetsuits, but also jackets, T-shirts, gloves, socks and booties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is neoprene?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>During the 1930s, the <strong>Dupont company<\/strong> researched and developed such well-known materials as <strong>nylon<\/strong>the <strong>lycra<\/strong>the <strong>kevlar<\/strong> or the <strong>neoprene<\/strong>a polymer derived from chloroprene, known as polychloroprene, of the synthetic rubber family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your <strong>main characteristic<\/strong> is the chemical inertness, which does not tend to react with other substances, making it a <strong>ideal insulator<\/strong>. The microscopic pore structure and sealed air bubble structure give it excellent properties for the <strong>thermal protection<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Neoprene canyoning wetsuits<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The<strong> neoprene canyoning wetsuits<\/strong> differ from other wetsuits such as kayaking or surfing wetsuits, among other things, because of the reinforcements included in the bib, knees, elbows and forearms. Many times we will come into contact with the rock, receive blows or go down slides, so we will need a neoprene that not only insulates us, but is also resistant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>the main features that our canyoning wetsuit must have are<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Thermal insulation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Buoyancy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Protection from minor bumps, scratches and ironing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flexible and adherent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For its <strong>construction<\/strong>The neoprene can be of the following types:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Monoforrado<\/strong>with only one lining (inner or outer), one surface remaining unlined (not currently used in canyoning suits).\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If the neoprene part is in contact with the skin, the sensation is soft and warm, it adheres very well to the body, although it is difficult to put on. At the same time, the lining on the outside protects the fabric from tearing and abrasion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the other hand, if the lining is on the inside, it is easier to put on and warmer once out of the water, dries faster and has a better glide.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Biformed:<\/strong> the neoprene is pressed between two liners. It is currently the predominant type of canyoning wetsuit. It mainly offers a high resistance, the material is stiffer which makes it lose elasticity and adherence, it is easy to put on but requires a longer drying time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Microporous:<\/strong>&nbsp;its most common form is similar to the monoforrado but the material on the inside is more spongy, hence the name, and has a lining on the outside, has a high thermal power, adheres to the skin and reduces water seepage to the maximum, it also has a high elasticity.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>By type of clothing they may be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>2-piece neoprene<\/strong>These are the most recommended for very aquatic and cold canyons, such as those in the Pyrenees or Pre-Pyrenees, or for large-scale aquatic canyons where we are going to lose body temperature (for experts). They are usually 4-5 mm.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>One-piece neoprene: <\/strong>are recommended for summer in Pre-Pyrenean areas or Pyrenean canyons that are not too aquatic. They are also very comfortable for guides, as they allow you greater flexibility of movement and are less tiring to move around in. They are usually 3-4 mm, although there are also 5 mm models designed for beginners or clients of adventure companies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"aawp\">\n\n            \n            \n<div They delay the entry of water, however, the watertightness is reduced in the water, depending on the quality. Out of the water, ambient temperature insulation. More delicate to tearing, they make an excellent <strong>windbreak function<\/strong> when air currents are formed inside the gorge by the force of the waterfalls or in <strong>cold and very aquatic canyons<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In canyoning, short-sleeved jackets are not used, they must be long-sleeved, waterproof jackets.
