Visit to Tabarka
For eight weeks the city is transformed into a hustle and bustle with its annual cultural and sports festival.
It is not very big so in a few hours we can see the most important points of interest, if we decide to stay longer we can enjoy various excursions around the island and beaches as well as visits to nearby villages such as La Crumiria. Tabarka offers a typical coastal cuisine with plenty of seafood and exquisite fish, all at a very reasonable and affordable price.
We can visit the ancient Roman cistern from the 3rd and 4th century, which supplied the thermal baths and public baths and had a capacity of 2700m3, it was transformed into a church, nowadays it houses temporary exhibitions and is sometimes used as an open-air theatre. It is known as the Basilica.
Another cistern, this time transformed into a fortress in the 12th century, is the well-known Borj Messaud.
Tabarka Island
The island of Tabarka is 400 metres off the coast and is accessible by car. Here we find the Genoese Fort, which rises imposingly before us and from the island of Tabarka you can enjoy excellent views.
There is a marine park where the rich marine fauna of the place is protected. To access it, you have to use the services of a local fisherman, as there is no regular transport to the marine park.
The maritime park is an archipelago of islands called La Galite. In order to access the maritime park, you must have an official pass from the army.
Galite has a long history dating from the Phoenicians to the present day, the area is inhabited by fishermen.

The Forests of La Crumiria
It is a very peculiar area because of its dense and extensive forests, which contrast with the rest of Tunisia's landscapes, abundant rainfall and snowfall in winter, it is an exception in Tunisia, its forests are home to countless animals and it is one of the main hunting grounds in Tunisia.
It is a mountainous area with peaks that can reach 800 and up to 1000 m high.
Over time, the population grew and the forest was reduced, but also livestock and crops increased.
