Bay of Fires in Tasmania, Australia
The Bay of Fire, on Tasmania's north-western tip, offers visitors fine sandy beaches and lush forest, a haven for wildlife, protected as Mount William National Park. A unique coastline is well worth a guided walking tour, the best way to get to know it and appreciate the landscape in depth.
Spring, when the park is covered in a carpet of wild flowers that fill it with colour and attract butterflies and small birds, is an ideal time to visit the Bay of Fire, which can be reached by road from Launceston or Haobart after travelling 200-300km.
