Estaon - Àreu

An alarm clock rings in the shelter room. I look at the time, it's 5.15am. People, who get up very early. I gather my things and have a quick breakfast to start the stage.

I return to the path that climbs up to the Jou pass. There the GR11 turns off to the bottom of the valley to return along the opposite slope. For a moment I think about taking a shortcut, but I decide to continue along the path. At least I can have a coffee in Tavascan.

At the entrance to the village a man warns me: It's going to rain, you'll get wet! He was right. Twenty minutes later it starts to hail. Jacket, rucksack cover and we set off with just enough time to reach the Tudela pass.

Once in Àreu I meet up with Unai and Pepín. The day ends there, in the porch of the church, with the clothes laid out inside and us asleep on the floor.
