Extraordinary findings

-by Adela Cotillas López-

I want you to know that you are the only one who deigned to see my essence. Many others passed me by and went on their way with disdain.

You, who picked me up from the ground, without imagining what my fibres have seen before falling into your hands, I will reward you with the stories inside me: I will take you to the glaciers of the Himalayas, you will imagine seeing the waving flags and you will smell the scent of the yaks.

You'll want to know what Kathmandu sounds like because I'm going to tell you in your ear what I've experienced until your head fills with dreams and you have to hit the road.

I will not let you down mate, my wool will tighten even tighter around your forehead, I will keep your warmth and protect your ideas. I will climb with you to any eight-thousander you want to take me. I give you my word, which is pure and virgin. As am I.
