Betirako ti. Forever ti.

-by Miren Arregi Uriarte-.

The last day of the year is here again. And for the first time without you, tia. You. There will be no more climbs up to the Aloña Mendi, no more pintxo, no more glass of champagne on the shore to say goodbye to the year. Always at the side of the windy Aloña. Today more than ever. I climb at my own pace, running according to you, carrying a double rucksack, or just one with double weight: the bottle of champagne and the duel. I go back to the cross. Down a few metres to the gunwale. Happy mountaineers as always. The pintxo doesn't taste the same today, nor the champagne. I fill two glasses and drink mine. Almost in one gulp. That's it. I say goodbye to the year. I leave, I leave up here a glass full of bubbles and life,
a little piece of me and a lot of you. And I will come back. And always with two glasses of champagne.
