Peak

-by Emilio Mateos Ortega-.

My taste for this sister country already exceeded her stamina, so when I urged her to climb to the highest point of the Tuga universe, I was not guaranteed any enthusiasm. Paying ten euros per head to access the cone was the least of it. Between rain, wind, sun and shade, hardly anyone climbed the steep route that day, which, between milestone and milestone of the stake, could be glimpsed, when the fog allowed it. His knee had already warned me in other flatter adventures, but not even the youthful desertions that warned "it's bad up there", made me give up the objective; I had already been there with Google Maps. We finally reached the crater, and a foggy window pointed out the summit. Only another crazy Argentinian accompanied us up. It was four hours of muddy descent, with Raquel dragging her bottom on the ground.
