Old Caixicos
-by Miguel Ángel Rupérez Gargallo-.
From time to time I seek refuge, solitude. Not to feel alone, but to be alone. Or rather, to be accompanied by other non-human living beings. It gives me another perspective, another way of seeing and facing the world; calmer, more precise, perhaps more lucid. Suddenly, what was indispensable to me is now superfluous, and items that were further down the list have moved to the top. Everything has also been simplified; the messy jumble of items has become a small list of essentials.
And all this I find in the abandoned Guarguera, on the road to San Úrbez, at the foot of the Galardón mountain range, where two wise old men, two giant caixicos, give me the advice and the peace and quiet I need. There where the famous shepherd forgot or left his hat; there I find you. For perhaps you were already there and were already offering him advice.
