Proust's madeleine

A new job. A non-hostile but threatening environment. Everything is different. And strange. I take some personal belongings out of my backpack to make the place where I'm going to spend so many hours more welcoming. Among them, a calendar that I will hang on the wall on the second of January. It is not just any calendar. This time I did not dedicate it, for a change, to Piris but to Picos. The cover could have no other protagonist than this colossus of golden reflections that, due to lack of skills or too many years, I will no longer be able to crown. His images will be my particular madeleine de Proust. They will transport me to territories both familiar and unknown. Rock, grass and shreds of blue sky. The remains of a snowdrift. A twisted pine tree that seems to feed on air. The mountain: the last and most effective refuge from uncertainty.
