Lunch with a view
-by Antonio Gómez-
On our nature excursions we have the healthy habit of trying to surprise the rest of the group with food. A simple ham sandwich is not enough. We offer the other mountaineers pieces of cake, hummus, chickpea salads... Although there are also days of hard-boiled eggs and bread because time is running out. It helps a lot to be of different nationalities, what for one is a simple breakfast for the rest is a delicacy. But all this is of no use if nature does not offer spectacular views. Our stop always needs a good seat and a fascinating landscape. The next challenge to overcome is: having Japanese food for lunch on top of Mount Misen on the island of Miyajima (Japan), with Hirosima Bay in the background.
Fastpacking is not about going faster. It's about going lighter.
If you come from classic trekking, this is the next step: learning to move with less weight,
more fluid and enjoying every kilometre more.
Join the channel and start discovering what lightness feels like.
