Port de la Selva - Cap de Creus

    ↔️ Distance: 15.3 km
    📈 Unevenness (+470), (-450) 📉
    🕒 Time: 3h50min (travel time) non-stop)
    ⚠️ Difficulty: Easy, without difficulty.
💧 Water: The lighthouse bar in Creus is the only place where we can get water.

📌 (0h00min; 0 kms) Port de la Selva (6m). The GR11 follows the coast towards Punta de la Creu. It passes by the marina, the sailing club and a series of coves, until near the tip, it turns to the SE direction and heads towards a area of chalets. We reach a bifurcation where we take the road that goes up to the right (Calle del Puig Gros). Shortly after finishing the climb, a path to the left follows that gently ascends to a hill (4kms/190m) where another path joins on the left. Just after that, we cross a Canadian crossing and leave the path on the second road that goes to the left (well signposted).

📌 (1h05min; 4.8 kms) Sant Baldiri de Taballera (125m). We leave Sant Baldiri behind and continue on the fork in the road to the right. After a while, we cross the path that leads to Cala Taballera —where the route used to pass— and continue straight ahead along a wide path. We pass Mas Vell (right junction) and begin the descent to Riera dels Nou Recs —the landscape is rocky, with an extraordinary beauty—. After the stream, we regain altitude; the path becomes a path, which we will follow for about 400 meters before taking a path to the left that leads us to a…

📌 (2h00min; 8.3 kms) Cross – Mas de la Birba Track (144m). The sign is in the purest Far West style, featuring a skull of an animal. We follow the trail to the left, but soon we abandon it for a path that leads to the right, which leads to another path that will take us to…

📌 (2h50min; 11.9 kms) Cape Creus Lighthouse Road (110m). We cross the road and continue along a path through rocky terrain that climbs and descends continuously. Shortly before the lighthouse, half a kilometer in a straight line, the path leaves the road at a right-hand bend—just before a large straight stretch where the ground narrows before the last piece of solid ground—. Continue along a path that descends to the right almost touching Cala Jugadora, then climbs back up to the road at another right-hand bend where a path begins that leads us directly to the lighthouse.

📌 (3h35min; 14.8 km) Cape Creus Lighthouse (80m). We are almost there. We head towards the tip; at first there are no markings, but they soon appear. Almost at the end, a narrow passage over the cliff seems to want to not give up; it is already too late to turn around. A few more meters and we have succeeded. Congratulations!

    📌 (3h50min; 15.3 kms) Cap de Creus (25m).
