Situation:
French Pyrenees, in the Gavarnie valley, near the town of Luz-St.Sauveur (Hautes Pyrénées).
When to go:
From the beginning of July to the end of October.
Difficulties of the route:
Low difficulty on its northern slope (Luz Ardiden); but the normal route is the one that starts from the Lutour valleyThe climb takes about 5h30 hours along the SW ridge.
Complicated sections:
- Only the Agudes gap on the Lutour slope, after 4 hours of ascent (IIº).
Recommended equipment:
- Waterproof boots and walking stick.
- Sunglasses and sunscreen.
- Ice axe and crampons in winter conditions
