Alex Txikon starts the second high altitude rotation of his winter expedition to Annapurna
- After leaving in several groups, one at around 9:45 and another at around 11:00, the team of climbers is already at C1, 4 days after the first rotation at altitude.
Alex Txikon, Chhepal, Ang Gyalu, Passan Nurbu, Magkpa, Mig temba, Lakpa, Pemba and Mattia Conte are already at Annapurna C1 (5,150m) after starting the second high altitude rotation of #AnnapurnaColdPeaks this morning.
So, 4 days after the first rotation at altitude, and after regaining strength and organising the climbing strategy in the BC for 3 days, the team of climbers set off in several groups in the direction of C1. At around 9:45, the first group, formed by Mattia and Andrés, set off; and at around 11:00, Alex set off alone, although closely followed by another group of Sherpas. Another group of Sherpas stayed in BC to climb directly to C2 tomorrow.
As they confess, the weather is good, and it doesn't look like there will be any problems until the 3rd of January, as the forecasts are good. In addition, they point out that it is much less cold in C1 today than the previous time they were in the camp, 4 days ago.
