The most extensive of Navarre's gorges is known as the Foz de Arbaiun, this gorge is the entrance to the majestic Salazar Valley which is adorned with the river Salazar. The river Salazar is a waterway that has been carving the rock, giving rise to imposing vertical walls for almost 6 kilometres.
In the heart of the Foz de Arbaiun we find a diverse and unique vegetation that offers a variety of unparalleled beauty. Surrounded by numerous colonies of vultures that perch on its rocky balconies, this beautiful place has been catalogued as a Nature Reserve and Special Protection Area for Birds.

Dare to visit the Arbaiun Gorge

The gorges of Navarre have two gorges separated by just a few kilometres. The Lumbier gorge, carved by the river Irati, which enhances the magical valley of Salazar, and the spectacular Arbaiun or Arbayún gorge, which will thrill you with their beauty and their rocky and wooded landscapes.

Although it is true that the Arbaiun Gorge is less well known than that of Lumbier, which is on the road between Pamplina and Jaca, it is no less true that visitors who visit the Arbaiun Gorge stay there to be surrounded by much more natural energy and to feed their souls.

Although it is less known it does not mean that it is less important, environmentally or geologically speaking, nor is it possible to say that this gorge is less spectacular, thanks to the infinity of birds that we can observe here.

Easy access to the Arbaiun Gorge

The Foz de Arbaiun is a very easy stop that you cannot miss, as it is easily accessible by car, where you will find an asphalted car park for several cars and several information panels, where you can get information about birds of prey. You can also walk along the paths, where you will find rocky balconies where you can see some disturbing voids.

You will also have wonderful views of valleys and animals, you will be surrounded by huge birds that will fly over you, making this walk a magical experience that you cannot miss. You can leave your vehicle in the car park and let yourself be carried away by the wonders of nature.
