Congosto de Ventamillo, a route between limestone walls

The Ventamillo Gorge or Congosto de Ventamillo closes the access to the Benasque valley from the south. It is a three-kilometre long gorge with impressive vertical limestone walls. It is an ideal route for hiking between the towns of El Run and Seira, and it is possible to start the route in either of them. The route goes around the gorge on both banks at a considerable height and follows a circular route with significant slopes and unbeatable views of the cliffs, the valley of the Ésera and the Maladetas massif.

Ibón de Estanés from Sansanet. Excursion to one of the most emblematic lakes in the Aragonese Pyrenees.

We can say that this is a basic excursion in the Aragonese Pyrenees. We are going to tell you about two routes, the one we consider to be easier and suitable for the whole family and the other that requires a little more time and effort. Both routes start at the Sansanet car park and reach the Estanés lake.

The peak of Anie/Auñamendi is the highest mountain in the Larra massif and the first to surpass the 2,500m barrier from the Atlantic Ocean. A sacred mountain in Basque mythology, it is located in French territory (Bearn), very close to Navarre and near the Table of the Three Kings...

Ibones de Anayet

The Anayet lakes are a magical place. Just think what the wall in front of them looks like: the Pico del Anayet. The Anayet Peak is one of the classics of the Pyrenees. Like its neighbour Midi D'Ossau, it owes its origin to volcanic phenomena.

The best natural pools in the Pyrenees

Now that the heat is getting hotter, it is a good idea to get to know the natural jewels that the Pyrenees have to offer for a good dip. Let's take a look at some of the natural pools in the Aragonese Pyrenees. There is something for everyone: for those who want to contemplate the marvellous views, for those who prefer to spend a quiet day with the family and, of course, for those who are looking for thrills and spills.

Font l'adou (Bagà)

The source of the Bastareny river is in the municipality of Gisclareny, at the Fonts de l'Adou, which are located at an altitude of 1,077 metres. They are located six kilometres from the village of Bagà, in Alt Berguedà, and it is a fairly simple excursion from the forest track that starts at the Pont de Sant Joan bridge.
