Time on my side
-by Jose Carlos Rivas Salcedo
What am I doing here, again, was this a good idea, will it be my last time, can I make it, how far will I go, the taste of a route without a plan, I don't savour it until I reach my own summit, until I discover my limits, until I let my mind speak to my body and encourage it to look, to observe, to see the truth of the immensity before me, in the rain and in the sun. There is no room for tiredness when I am finally filled with peace, only a vague memory of the physical difficulty overcome, the same one that will lead me to return again and again, to desire to stumble over the same stones, to smell the essence of the natural, of the primitive. I return to find the energy, I return to find myself aware of how lost I was. Walking with time, without haste, how can I explain it, how can I not understand it?
