The last kiss
-by Fernando Royo Pedragosa-
Courage, Marta... slowly, but don't stop walking... I'm going to get you out of here. That clumsy fall has lost us a lot of time and the night comes looking for us.
I could have been more attentive but I did not see your tiredness... I only saw how we reached the summit. That ridge, that beautiful ridge that we have kissed so many times in summer deceived me with its white virgin dress... it cried out to remain immaculate.
There is little left... keep talking to me and, step by step, we will pray for our arrival at the refuge... they are waiting for us.
Listen how the icy skin of this starry dream creaks... I feel the cold, I feel your rhythmic breath... hold me and let's cross the last kiss of this night.
We arrived tired... "help my colleague first, it was hard but we have arrived, take care of her, she is badly wounded".
Friend, you arrive very tired, with a lap full of blood... but alone, no one accompanies you... come in the warmth, rest.
