Ski resorts in the Pyrenees in Huesca

Formigal (Aragonese Pyrenees)

In the province of Huesca, in Aragon, we find one of the most famous ski resorts in the whole of the Iberian Peninsula. Yes, we are talking about Formigal, a ski resort that has 103 slopes and a total of 137 km of snow. waiting for you to ski them. 

Formigal is located at the head of the Tena Valley, just an hour and a half by car from the capital of Aragon, Huesca. 

Although its size attracts a large number of people, it is true that this station is organised to the last detail to be able to support this large flow of people without overcrowding.

Cerler

Cerler is a slightly smaller resort than Formigal, but it has nothing to envy. 

It has 77 km spread over 66 tracks, as well as enjoying privileged slopes, as it is located in the centre of the city.odeada by mountains such as Aneto (at an altitude of 3,404 metres) and the Maladeta (3,308 metres). 

Cerler is located just over 100 km from Huesca, in the valley of Ribagorza, and very close to near a beautiful village called Benasque.

Candanchú is located in Huesca, on the border between France and Spain and is crossed by the Way of St. James. 

In this picturesque location is this station, one of the favourites of many because of the lots of tracks for beginners. However, there are also numerous slopes for those more experienced riders who wish to experience greater difficulty. 

It is equipped with all the necessary services: infirmary, ski lifts, ski instructors, restaurants, nursery for the little ones...). It also has a cross-country skiing circuit and a biathlon course.

Grandvalira

In Andorra we find the largest resort in the Pyrenees, Grandvalira. It has 210 km spread over 127 slopes. In addition, there are different areas, such as: Soldeu-El Tarter and Pas de la Casa-Grau Roig. 

This station receives a large influx of people but thanks to its different entrances, the number of people is spread out and there is less of a feeling of overcrowding. 

Most of Grandvalira's slopes are green or blue (easy or medium level), which makes it an ideal resort for learning to ski or improving our technique

It has a large snowpark and a wide range of instructors who will adapt to your level to help you improve. 

Although it is in the neighbouring country, it is not very far from Catalonia. It is separated from Barcelona by only 200 km, which is why many inhabitants of Barcelona choose this resort. 

Vallnord

Vallnord is Andorra's second largest resort, very close to the capital, Andorra la Vella

Vallnord is divided between Ordino-Arcalis and Pal Arinsal. The former is more suitable for those who prefer to practice snow;  secondly, for families and people who want to practice other types of sporting disciplines, such as, for example, the mushingsnowmobiling, snowshoeing or snowshoeing. 

Specifically, Pal Arinsal has five slalom slopes, seven green (easy), 16 blue, 17 red and four black slopes.

Baqueira Beret

The resort of Baqueira Baret is located in the Lleida Pyrenees, and offers some of the best views of the Pyrenees. 157 km of tracks in the Val d'Aran and Valls d'Aneu area.

It is a very large station that also has spectacular views, as the surrounding mountains are over 3,000 metres above sea level. This also favours a much better snow quality compared to the other surrounding slopes. 

It has modern ski lifts and a wide range of services, because if there is one thing that characterises Baqueira Beret it is the quality of the services it offers.

Boi-Taüll

This ski resort is located in Lleida and with its 2,750 metres becomes the highest of all the Pyrenees.The quality of its snow can hardly be improved. 

The slopes of this resort are mostly medium to high level, so we recommend that you visit it once you have a certain level of skiing. 

It is not usually very crowded, so if you want to enjoy a family holiday in the snow without long waits, this is the resort for you. 

La Molina

La Molina is the resort longest-lived in Spain, as it was inaugurated in 1943. It has 61 km of slopes, most of them of an easy level, ideal for people who are learning to ski.

Around the slopes of this resort there are wooded areas that provide a very special atmosphere that you can enjoy while skiing. 

This station is very well connected, as there are trains that will take you there for a small fee. 

At the same time, there are plenty of different activities for both children and adults to make it impossible to get bored.

Saint-Lary

St Lary has 100 km of skiable slopes and with unbeatable snow quality. 

There are slopes for all levels, so whether you are a beginner or an expert, you will be able to find your place. It also has a space specially designed for children, where they can have fun while learning to ski. 

The surrounding landscape gives us an image of all the mountains of the Pyrenees that is very worthwhile, as well as a lake very close to the resort, L'Oule, 20 km if we take the Bielsa tunnel.

This resort is located in an area that is also well known to cycling enthusiasts as a part of the Tour de France passes through here. 

It is one of the best resorts in France with almost 100 km of skiable slopes. Not to mention the surroundings, with unbeatable views in the heart of the Pyrenees. 

Many expert skiers choose this resort as it has a large number of medium to high level pistes (red and black), especially those in the Pic du Midi area. In the northern part of the resort there are lower level slopes for those who prefer them.
