Ibones de Gorgutes and the Glera Pass
We move forward with the 27+1 Wonders of the Pyrenees. With the "G"We approach the Ibones de Gorgutes. @IbonesPyrenees this corner in Benasque offers us.
The Gorgutes lakes are located in the middle of the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park. Accessing them is a delight in the framework of a landscape of granite blocks, black pines, some rhododendron and above all high mountain meadows..
We will have to reach the end of the A-139 road to put on our boots and start walking. This strange end of the road, which at one time was planned as a tunnel that would connect Benasque with the French town of Luchón. This is the point at which we enter the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park on our way to the Ibones de Gorgutes and the Glera Pass (for the livelier ones).
We will go along the Gorgutes ravine, leaving on our right the Ibones de la SolanaWe will cross a small pass, and there we will have the Ibón de Gorgutes in front of us. It is well worth stopping at this point to contemplate the impressive Maladeta glacier one of the strongholds of ice in the Pyrenees and one of the most beautiful glaciers. The only thing left to do now is to go down to cool off in the waters of the Ibón and for the more lively ones, bordering the lake on the right you can walk towards the Puerto de la Glera.
