Bolivian cholitas who climb mountains
We remember the Bolivian 'cholitas' who climbed mountains as an example of the struggle for equality in society.
15 Aymara women, dressed in their long traditional skirts, together with their mountaineering equipment: helmet, crampons, ice axe and helmet, they challenge mountains over 6,000 metres high with an iron tenacity. Their challenge, to climb 8 mountains over six thousand metres high.
Happy in the mountains, for the exploits they achieve and, most importantly, for all that their adventure means.
We leave you with a video of the Bolivian 'cholitas' who fight with their challenge much more than 8 mountains.
