Two steps from the sun
-by Estefanía Lafuente Aballe-.
Asturias, Lindes, Peña Rueda. August 2019. A lot of desire, some backpacks, my cousin and me. Climbing 1315 metres was not in itself the goal, but conquering a peak that in turn became the conquest of ourselves. Maybe life is like that climb, a steep slope with some flatness to think, to grow and overcome, to encourage each other, to stop believing in oneself, to stop, to breathe, to trust again and to adapt to setbacks. Once we had suffered and overcome the crest and the ascent, touching the sky at 2152 metres, I was choked with emotion and a fly that almost made me vomit, but I was very proud and happy. And after getting down after getting lost, many turns and a sprained ankle, our finish together confirmed the theory; "even if there is pain, the glory is eternal".
