The treasure hunter
-By Josean Aparicio Tercero
When I was a child, I liked to go looking for minerals. I treasured quartz, pyrites, bright geodes of different colours and also fossils that made me dream of a fascinating world that no longer existed. The rougher the terrain and the more tortuous the paths, the greater the value of what I could find. Years later, I continued to explore other places in search of something I could no longer explain. I penetrated deep chasms, climbed impregnable-looking spires, ascended steep mountains and walked through territory that people did not usually walk through.
The world changed over the years, but I was still looking for those places that fascinated me so much, and now, every time I reach a remote peak or a wild corner where nature has not yet been altered, I feel the thrill of having found one of those treasures of my childhood.
