    On the polar ice

    -by Xavier Torres Canals-

The hours had disappeared. Day and night were confused. We could only feel that icy wind that embraced us at all hours.

A wind that slowed us down to the point of desperation, no matter how small our steps were. It was the solitude of points 90° N, 0° E that were now almost impossible to reach.

The cold was taking hold of our bodies, making them stiffer and stiffer. Nature reminded us that men are nothing, that we are nobody. Even with our boldness, we were nothing but insignificant.

Even so, we could not stop thinking about the grandeur of that place and how lucky we were to feel the strength of its murmur on our skin. To live, to survive.
