Biadós Refuge - Ángel Orús Refuge

    ↔️ Distance: 10.6 km
    📈 Unevenness (+1.150), (-730) 📉
    🕒 Time: 4h40min (travel time) non-stop)
⚠️ Difficulty: The Forqueta pass may have snow at the beginning of the season. The descent to the Llardaneta lake is very steep.
💧 Water: Except for the higher part, there will be no problems finding water. Suggestions: You can finish the day by climbing to Forqueta (3,011m). From the Eriste pass (2,860m), continue south along the ridge looking for the easiest passes. Without real difficulties of climbing, you will have to use your hands at some point (1h up/down).

At the beginning of the stage, we will find abundant information panels about the different routes in the area. The entire route of this stage is part of the Return to Posets o Route of the 3 refuges and coincides during the first two hours with a popular trail (S11) to the Ibones of Millás and Lenés.

📌 (0h0min;0km) Refuge of Biadós/Viadós (1740m). Below the shelter there is a little house where we can take shelter. water. The GR11 descends to a small parking area where the trail from San Juan de Plan ends; it crosses a bridge and continues through the farms of Biados, which were once used as granaries and stables. At the last farm (0.7kms), the path makes a left-hand bend; at this point, the GR11 splits. In front of you, the main route at the Estós refuge and the San Jaime bridge, on the right, the GR11.2 variant.

The path descends to a wooden bridge over the Cinqueta d’Añes Cruces and ascends to a path that we then leave to continue along a path to the left in a southerly-south-easterly direction, passing through an area of meadows where cattle graze. The route enters the ravine of the Ribereta, covered by a pine forest, to climb up its left bank. After 50 minutes from the start, we pass a stream of ferruginous waters in which we can take a swim. water💧. The path continues to climb without stopping; we pass a pond, peek into the ravine, and leave the forest. A short descent brings us to Canal de las Tuertas, a secluded spot where the streams converge. waters💧 of two ravines. We cross the one coming from the left and ascend in a zigzag, among pines, until we reach an area of meadows where we begin a journey to the right (SE). We pass a stream💧 quite abundant and we reached the…

📌 (1h40min; 4.9kms) crossing the ibones of Millas and Lenés (2275m). We abandon the marked path of the ibones and ascend to the left (E) along a very steep slope. Although there are opportunities to collect water further up, the stream💧 On the right is the last option for filling the canteen. Among the blocks we gain a kind of ravine that gives access to a higher valley. A new panorama opens up: to the left, the Pico de Pavots or Tucón Royo (3,124m); in front, the valley through which the route runs to the ravine of Eriste, of the Forqueta or Grist (2,860m); and to the right, a whole long succession of forgotten three-thousanders: Forqueta (3,011m), Millares (2,938m), Eriste Norte (3,031m) and Gran Eriste (3,056m). Ahead, an expensive climb between boulders, blocks and some crevasses, depending on the season, until…

📌 (3h00min; 6.7kms) Collado de Eriste or de la Forqueta (2,860), It is crowned by several large milestones. On the left, the famous Espadas-Posets ridge, which usually starts lower down, in order to avoid the main difficulties up to the Diente Royo. On the right, if you have time (1h up/down) and luck, the climb to Forqueta (3,011m) is an easy and entertaining climb. The descent to the ibon is steep, due to unstable rocks.

📌 (3h20min; 7.4kms) Ibón de Llardaneta (2.690m). We circle it on the left. After the Ibón and before we begin to descend the Llardaneta valley, we can take the water💧 in a stream that comes from the left. After 15 minutes we pass the crossing of the normal ascent to Posets via the Canal Fonda, later (12′), near a broken bridge, we cross the stream that accompanies us from the ibon, and shortly after (12′), we reach the…

📌 (4h10min; 9.5kms) crossing the GR11.2 – Ref. Ángel Orús (2.360m). Continue going down to the right, towards the…
