     Height: 3071m

    Situation:

Aragonese and French Pyrenees, head of the Ordesa and Gavarnie Valleys.

    When to go:

From the end of June to mid-October.

    Difficulties of the route:

Without being difficult, this peak is demanding, requires a good physical preparation and attention on some of the passes between the Western Astazou (first to be climbed since Pineta) and the Great Astazou.

    Complicated sections:

    - The snow pit before the first of the Astazou.
    - Swan's Corridor: short passage exposed more impressive than difficult.

    Recommended equipment:

Ice axe and crampons almost indispensable at the beginning of the season.
    - Waterproof boots, and gaiters appreciated.
    - Sunglasses and sunscreen.
