A very special peak

When you leave early from the charming Refugio Giner de los Ríos, you take with you the pleasant company of dinner and breakfast and a postcard of La Pedriza at dawn included. Great.

Then you ascend the Manzanares Valley in the increasingly unusual absence of people beyond the two of us. You listen to the murmur of the water between the rocks through the forest, an experience that is no less comforting for being so well known.

Finally, on the final ramps to the Alto de Guarramillas, a documentary by Amigo Felix awaited our presence to begin filming. The young males were rehearsing their horn fights for the not too distant future.

On our arrival the "Hergé rockets" of Bola del Mundo seemed to celebrate all this beauty.

It is not the highest, nor the most difficult, nor is its summit the most beautiful, but on that day in May, it became a very special summit.
