Nascosto Landscape

-by Roberto Ríos Sanz

When I opened my eye I saw that the predictions were correct. The spider's web was present.
Gripped at each of its ends to all vegetation, its imperious mantle flooded everything. I seemed to find myself in a well in which there was only me, my being in front of nothingness.

I thought about giving up and putting aside my purpose but then the day would be colourless, grey, blurred.
I decided to persist in the face of this complex beginning, knowing that the end would be sweet.

Legs, tense.
Sight, unable to find its way.
The heart, present in my whole body.

The web entangled me.

Ascending little by little, I managed to break free from its cloak just before the summit. There, the strength of the sun gave light to everything that a few metres below was mist.

I felt unique in this hidden landscape, only accessible to those who decided to go further that day.
