Nike and Vibram join forces to set a new performance standard in off-road running

BOSTON, July 7, 2023 - Vibram and NIKE, Inc. announce their new collaboration bringing Vibram's leading technology and unique sole design to Nike's trail footwear offering. The first product of this collaboration is the Nike Ultrafly Trail, a new innovation for trail running.

The expected Nike Ultrafly TrailThe Vibram Trail Running Shoes combine Nike's cutting-edge technology with Vibram's renowned innovation, and are designed as an advanced, sleek, grippy and fast product to offer athletes an exceptional trail running experience.

The Nike Ultrafly Trail introduces groundbreaking innovations to the Nike Trail line to give runners the speed, comfort and grip they need to tackle tough trails at a fast pace. For the first time in Nike Trail, the Ultrafly incorporates a Flyplate carbon, located between the ZoomX foam and a textile-wrapped midsole. The Ultrafly's outsole incorporates the Vibram Litebase technology in a Nike Running shoe, offering trail runners a proprietary lightweight and agile outsole design with the award winning Vibram Traction Lug technology and the Vibram Megagrip compound.

In 2021, Nike footwear designers collaborated closely with elite Nike Trail athletes to create a premium racing shoe tailored specifically for the trails. Recognising athletes' need for exceptional grip and traction on rough terrain, Nike and Vibram designers joined forces to incorporate their expertise into the latest innovation in Nike Trail footwear.
