List of the 11 best coastal treks in the world

This post is not a "copy-paste" like others you can find on the Internet, as we are mountaineers and hikers who want to share our experiences with other mountaineers who also want to grow and discover new places.

Knowing that the posts we write are based on our own experience and that we know exactly what you are looking for, you can't miss what we have to tell you about the best coastal treks in the world. We assure you that these treks will not leave you indifferent and that in the near future you will probably be the one recommending them in a very short period of time.

Pay attention and we assure you that as soon as you read this list you will want to book tickets for your next destination. These destinations are exactly the following:

GR 34 in France.

This trek will take you from Vitré to Tour-de-Parc; a route in the middle of which you will be able to see the Sept-Ille archipelago. We also loved the labyrinth of granite that we had to pass through in the middle of the crossing and the simple fact that we never had to leave the coast.

The Lycian Way in Turkey.

This 540-kilometre route is a journey around the Lycia region of Turkey. The mountains rise straight up from the rocks at the edge of the sea and this is what makes it impossible to distinguish where the coast ends and the mountains begin. It is a rocky landscape where the mountains rise out of the water to create an effect never seen before. We assure you that in this place you will also have the sensation of walking through history, as it is a journey with a lot of character.

The Kalalau trek in Hawaii.

This trail is special because it takes you from Keé Beach to Na Pali Beach, two of the most famous beaches in this world-famous paradise. This may be the most paradisiacal trail we've ever done, especially since you can't fail to see the turquoise waters of Hawaii's coastline at any point along the way. Plus, the end of the ride at the destination beach is as close to being in a dream as you'll ever experience in your life.

The Wild Coast trek in South Africa.

What we liked most about this tour was that we did not expect to find a landscape like this in the heart of a country like South Africa. The reality is that the landscape is much greener than we could have imagined and it is very striking to land on a white sandy beach surrounded by fields, rocks and mountains that you would find on the highest peaks of the wettest places on the planet.

The Anglesey Way in the UK.

This 200-kilometre trek is very special for the simple reason that it offers some of the most beautiful coastal scenery to be found anywhere in Wales. You will walk along remote and wild beaches, through small caves in the wildest cliffs and also through vast dunes and forests. The variety of landscapes is therefore enormous and this is why this tour is perfect for its dynamism.

Hana Waianapanapa in Hawaii.

This tour starts at Kainalimu Bay and follows a lava line along the sea to an ancient Hawaiian temple. Along the way, you'll encounter lava pools, remote caves and views of the coastline that you've never seen before. Without a doubt, the best thing about this trail was that we were able to swim in the natural pools we found along the way, which allowed us to refresh ourselves and get our strength back before arriving at the long-awaited temple. We should not forget the biodiversity component either, as the species that we met before finishing the trek enriched our knowledge of them.

West Coast Trail (Barbuda) "

You'll need a minimum of 2 days to do the whole tour. Flanked by an inland lagoon, the only access to this beach is on foot and from the south, which makes this place much more intimate. We promise you'll have the time of your life on this wild Caribbean beach where you can enjoy the white sand, crystal clear water and solitude. During the summer season don't forget to pay attention to the groups of turtles that pass by the beach to rest at night. This is a spectacle that can be seen in very few places in the world.

Olympic National Park in Washington (USA).

This park is made up of 7 wonderful beaches that can be reached after several days of ascents and descents, which is a real marvel. In addition, you can also enjoy the vast forests in the immediate vicinity of the beaches on this trail, which is a mixture that we have never seen before. The beaches are located at the edge of the forest and we were delighted by this.

The Abel Tasman trek in New Zealand".

This 51 kilometre trek will take you to the best beaches in the south of the island. You can do the trek in 3 to 5 days and we assure you that the beaches you will land on will be unlike any you have seen before. This is because these beaches that you can see from the heights are, at times, a strip surrounded by sea on both sides. The sensation of seeing something so unique from close proximity and from the heights is something we can't describe in words.

The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path in the UK.

This trek will take you through some of the most spectacular scenery to be found in the UK. The beaches are inhospitable and wild and this is very rare in this area. The caves, glacial valleys and vast beaches are some of the best you'll find here.

From Tulum to Punta Allen in Mexico "

This route is in almost every book because it is one of the most famous treks in the world. However, if you really want a personal experience away from the crowds that flock to this idyllic spot, grab your rucksack and follow the path along the beach itself. We will start from Tulum. Don't forget to take your machete with you, because with it you will be able to enjoy all the coconuts you want. You will find coconuts in every corner of the beaches and with your machete you will be able to open them all and enjoy them immediately.
