The snow well of Yebra de Basa
If you are curious, you should not miss the Well Nevero de Yebra de BasaThis is a very popular place in the area, having its beginning in the Yebra campjust a few kilometres east of Sabiñánigo. It is located in the Comarca del Upper Galician.
Along the way you can find a 300m difference in altitude approximately, and can be travelled in less than 45 minutes. This estimation is only true for the ascent, as the descent is much simpler, faster, and has better signage to make it easier to guide you.
After crossing the road from the starting point, you will have to walk just a fifth of a kilometre until you see the Brasa RiverThe river has no particularly suitable place to cross it. Even so, as the flow is not very significant, it is easy to cross on foot. Once we have crossed it, we can start to climb up both the cañada real as by the old cabañera..
In order to reach the leafiest part of the forest, you will have to cross a track and then continue along the path. You will start to realise that it will become increasingly difficult to advance, but don't worry, as the effort will be rewarded with increasingly beautiful scenery and shadows in which you can take shelter to rest. After reaching a logging trail, we are only a hundred metres from our objective. After a short while we will find ourselves in front of the Pozo NeveroIt stands an imposing eight metres high and is surrounded by a multitude of fences. Finally, we will see a small shelter with beautiful views, normally used to avoid the ravages of bad weather.
When it comes to the descent, we can choose between two paths: the same one we used to go up or another one, located on the opposite side of the previous one, which is really well prepared, with very wide paths and quite steep slopes. The descent time, as we said before, will be reduced to little more than half, around 25 minutes. In this time we will have the opportunity to walk over numerous stone and concrete steps until we reach Yebra de Basa, completing the cycle.
