The most easterly of the Aragonese Pyrenees ski resorts, Cerler, is located in the Benasque valley, at the foot of the Aneto mountain (the highest peak in the Pyrenees, 3,404 m) and another of the Pyrenean three-thousanders (Posets, 3,371 m). Cerler, at the foot of the Aneto

The Aramón Cerler ski resort is known for being the highest ski resort in the Pyrenees of AragonIt is a place that is very close to Benasque.

Cerler, apart from being a challenging ski resort for experienced skiers, is an area with magical places, made by nature, as it is located in a pine forest, surrounded by more than 60 peaks, some of them over 3000 metres high. One of the best attractions of this place are the steep slopes that are great for skiing and will always remind you of its unique mountain range.

This is the ideal place for those people who love skiing and are already experienced in the sport, it is also functional for those who are new to the sport and are just learning. The resort of Aramon Cerler, considered by many people as a trendy, fashionable and relatively new ski resort, receives many tourists from the southwest of Spain.

It has more than 76 kilometres available for skiing, and besides that it has all the services available, such as conveyor belts, telephone booths, and of course all the services that a ski resort needs such as ski equipment rental, an infirmary with highly trained staff, instructors who work in a ski school, to teach different ages, etc. Without a doubt, you will lack for nothing in this place.

If you are visiting Cerler for the first time, you can let one of the resort's ambassadors guide you. This is a free guide service that will show you the slopes, the ski lifts, the peaks that surround the area and the best spots in Cerler. It is offered on Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays at 10.30 a.m. and does not require prior booking.

If you want to try the snowshoesThere is a circuit at the foot of the Ampriu (the price for renting snowshoes and poles is 9 euros). The circuit is suitable for beginners and also for experts, as there are steeper areas. And, if you want, you can hire the services of an instructor for a snowshoeing excursion.

Cerler is making efforts to place itself among the best ski resorts, not only in Spain but also in Europe; and apart from the ski world, Cerler has a great advantage, as in summer it offers a variety of attractions, entertainment and services such as downhill cycling and hiking.

The longest descent in Spain

Cerler has the longest descent you can find in Spain. It is nine kilometres, a distance that few can cover without making at least one stop. It is called Cerler 9 km, for the avoidance of doubt, and it is a route that any medium-level skier can do. It starts at the top of the resort, at an altitude of 2,630 metres, at the Gallinero chairlift. From the Perdiz Blanca piste, descend to the Colladeta and, from there, continue along the Camino del Sarrau, a track that winds its way up to Cota 2,000. Once there, the descent continues along the Robellons track, to then cross the forest on the way to Les Pllanes, link up with the track of the same name and finish the descent in front of the Remáscaro cafeteria, at 1,500 m above sea level.

One of the most curious attractions in Cerler is Sarrau Beach, at the top of Sarrau, between the Sarrau and Ampriu chairlifts. It is a place with a large terrace, a beach atmosphere, sunbeds... and an open-air ice bar. As well as resting, you can enjoy the spectacular views of the main Pyrenean peaks, such as Aneto and Posets.

And at the end of the day's skiing, when you think your ski pass is no longer of any use, go to the Remáscaro cafeteria, where they will exchange it for a beer or soft drink and a tapa to recharge your batteries.
