If you are an adventurous person, and you are just starting out in the world of nature, mountains and camping, you need to know everything you need to make it a great camping day. Camping will help you to relax your mind, be distracted from work and the daily routine of the city.

In order for you to have the best camp, you should consider the following situations:

The point of the Camp.

Choose carefully the place where you will pitch your tent, this is essential when you go camping. Going out into the mountains, or forest, has its risks. If you set up near an area with a lot of trees, you will have better protection in case of rain or strong winds.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the place you choose should have rivers or a source of drinking water nearby. But be careful, if you are very near a river: in addition to the inappropriate environment of excessive humidity, flash floods can occur. that would put you at risk.

Another aspect to take into account is the nearest place to move to in case of emergency. In the event of a problem, the exit routes should be analysed.

Finally, it should be noted that we cannot camp or bivouac wherever we want, each area, each municipality, each park has its own regulations.and we need to get to know it before we venture out to camp.

The team.

It depends on the environment in which we move, but if we are going to camp in the high mountains - above 2,000 metres, to put it in a nutshell - it is preferable that you have a good tentEven in the middle of summer, we can be surprised by storms and low temperatures. Just like the tent, a sleeping bag that offers us comfort at the temperatures we are going to sleep in, it is essential to rest and to be able to perform the activity we are going to do the following day.

Use a checklist with the most important and necessary things before leaving. Consider the time of year you decide to camp, as you need to be prepared if it is a cold time of year, or if it is hot.

The tent.

Place it on a flat spot, and at a certain height from the rest of the place. If it rains, the water will not get inside the tent. The tent should be set up in a tight, stable and sturdy way. Think about what you will do if in the middle of the night there are strong winds from a storm. This is quite normal in the high mountains. Don't be overconfident.

Food.

Be sure to bring only the necessary cooker and pans, in short, it is best to bring only one plate per person, and a saucepan, knife and cutlery -fork and/or spoon-. And of course a container of water.

Food containers that you use should not be washed with soap, as being in a place where there are no amenities or facilities, which will usually be a protected natural place, soap can contaminate the place or the water. Bear this in mind when washing your pans.

As far as food is concerned, the most important thing to bring is to bring foods that are dehydrated, or in cans, or that are easy to prepare. Just as you made a packing list, remember to make a list for food, listing what you are taking, and making portions for each meal. WARNING: don't forget to bring plenty of water, if there isn't any on site. Good hydration is even more important than the food itself.

The best advice that can be given is not to forget to carry a little first aid kitYou will need it in case of emergency. Also avoid building campfires, or lighting any kind of bonfire. If you are going for several days or have enough space, take a small gas cooker, so you can prepare your food, or boil the water you are going to drink.
