    Isaba - Zuriza (via Ezkaurre)

    ↔️ Distance: 17.7 km
    📈 Unevenness (+1.405), (-950) 📉
    🕒 Time: 6h05min (running time non-stop)
⚠️ Difficulty: High, an option not recommended in the winter. Crampons are necessary for the descent and ascent to Zuriza.

📌 (0h0min; 0kms) Isaba (790m). We are located on the NA-137 road that runs through Isaba; Continue along a cobbled street that descends to the right hand side, at the end of a kind of park-view point occupied by several benches and a telephone booth. The Pyrenean path leaves behind the last houses and descends towards the Belabarze ravine to meet a track coming from Isaba; the landscape is dominated by the rocky figure of Ezkaurre Txikia. Continue along the track in front.

📌 (0h35min; 2.4kms) Pass of the Ateas de Belabarze (860m). The trail forks -the GR- as well - in front, through the Ateas pass; the option is to go through the Valley of Belabarze. To the right, the variant GR11.4 described below, ascending to Ezkaurre. The GR11.4 continues through the ravine of Berroeta until it abandons it to face south the steep slopes of Mendikosanz. Once up, it continues on clear terrain following the ridge, skirting to the north Itoleta or Punta del Trozo (1769m) and leaving the Alto Solano of Ezkaurre (1712m) to the left before reaching…

📌 (3h20min; 11.2kms) Ibón de Ezkaurre (1,675m) under the rocky mass. We will reach the summit ridge by progressing through a narrow channel between crags and blocks. Once there, continue to the right (East) and climb the nearby summit of…

📌 (4h25min; 12.6kms) Ezkaurre (2.050m). The GR11 descends towards the Abizondo pass (1,641m), along the north face (difficult in winter, crampons are necessary). After passing the pass, the trail enters the thicket – the slope is relentless – and you quickly reach the…

📌 (5h45min; 16.1kms) Argibiela pass or Puerto de los Navarros (1,290m), where we find the road that connects Isaba and Zuriza and the GR11 (by Belabare). We leave Navarre behind and enter Aragon. A gentle descent with the road in sight leads us effortlessly to the end of this stage at the…
