From up here
-by Beatriz Ledo Trujillo-
From up here, everything down there seems small to me. From up here, my problems stay in my rucksack; my worries stay under the soles of my boots. The alpine accentuators become therapists. From up here, I feel no fear, envy or greed. Freedom is my companion.
In a world of noise, wars, hatred, depravity, nature becomes a refuge; the cliffs, hope. From up here, the din ceases, a sense of calm floods me, serenity, belonging somewhere, takes possession of my soul. I no longer have any escape. And I smile with relief at that.
One day I decided not to go back. Now they call me "the spirit of the mountain".

Fastpacking is not about going faster. It's about going lighter.
If you come from classic trekking, this is the next step: learning to move with less weight,
more fluid and enjoying every kilometre more.
