The state of the Pyrenees

THE PYRENEES, in order to preserve their better future, have the good will to grant each other the present CONSTITUTION:

1. The Pyrenees are constituted as an independent state, which, beyond a specific territory, is configured as a state of mind.
2. The sovereignty of the State is held by all the people who love the Pyrenees and are willing to protect them above all else.
3. Pyrenean nationality is acquired through passion and devotion to the mountain range and all the elements that make it up, regardless of origin, race, religion, political opinion or place of residence.
4. Freedom and ABSOLUTE RESPECT for a unique natural, heritage and human environment are the basic pillars of the State.
5. Any disagreement among the members of the State, whatever it may be, should be debated by climbing peaks, walking through valleys, visiting refuges, strolling through its villages or savouring the State's native gastronomy.
