Itinerary
(0h00min; 0,0 km) Montserra Monasteryt (724 m). It starts at the so-called curve of the Apostles. It runs parallel to the road, but higher than it. During the whole route we will walk through a shady environment surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation. The holm oak grove with viburnum, boxwood or durillo will accompany us on our walk. We will also find cypress and yew trees with fountains and benches.
At the beginning of the itinerary there is a bronze statue and a plaque commemorating the Virolai. The Virolai is a poetic composition that is more than a century old and is sung by the children of the Escolania de Montserrat choir at the monastery.
The first section of the route is known as the "artists" section. It recognises poets such as Jacint Verdaguer and Joan Maragall, musical performers such as Emili Vendrell, Pep Ventura, the father of the modern sardana, and Pompeu Fabra, the Catalan philologist.
Next we find the "camí del Magnificat" where we find religious acknowledgements mainly to the different Catalan virgins.
(0h35min; 1.3 km) "Roca dels Degotalls (711 m).
The end of our route is on an esplanade where there is a "rocky bauma" through which the water "drips".
During the whole route (if it has rained) we can see water emanations in the rock, which in winter can freeze.
We returned the same way.
