Trust yourself

7:30, departure from Pamplona in the direction of Selva de Oza. Three young, adventurous young women, mountaineers.

We park, laziness gets the better of us, a mountaineer gets ready, fog, it clears, Acher, there is no coverage,... decided: PEÑA FORCA.

Arriving at the pass, we look for the remains of the mountaineer who was ahead of us. We see him, we wait, "no crampons up to the tube", "watch out for the holes" and he points us in a different direction to the one we thought. We trust his judgement, he speaks with confidence and seems to know the area. We climb Lenito's tube, our legs slip, the snow is not suitable, fog,... and without making the top we go down. A loud noise, an avalanche, it's late... A challenge overcome.

At the bottom, we pick up a map and realise that we were heading in the right direction from the beginning.

Once again someone else's security has clouded our judgement.
