The source of the Bastareny river is in the municipality of Gisclareny, at the Fonts de l'Adou, which are located at an altitude of 1,077 metres. They are located six kilometres from the village of Bagà, in Alt Berguedà, and it is a fairly simple excursion from the forest track that starts at the Pont de Sant Joan bridge.

Ibones and lakes in magnificent granite landscapes. The route runs for the most part along the GR58 trail and about half of the GR541 from the Durance valley to the heart of the Queyras at Funfande.
