↔️ Distance: 25.2 km
📈 Unevenness: (+1.040),(-750) 📉
🕒 Time: 7h05min (walking time non-stop).
⚠️ Difficulty: no technical difficulties, except for the distance and the accumulated difference in altitude.
💧 Water: At the refuge of Seglar there is a tap of dubious origin. Otherwise, the first refreshment point of the day is the bar at Molí d'en Robert (4h15min). From here to the end, unless the springs have dried up, there will be no problem, you will find a couple of springs between Maçanet and La Vajol.
🚨Notice: According to some hikers, between stages 40 and 42, there is a plague of Asian caterpillars that devour the box trees. The caterpillars do not cause an allergic reaction in humans, but they do leave a sticky silk thread, sometimes forming a kind of spider's web, which is very annoying when walking.

📌 (0h00min; 0 kms) Albanyà (240m) The GR11 crosses Albanyà, leaving the town centre on the right. If you need to fetch water, leave the GR11 and go through the centre of the village to the church, source 💧. Shortly before leaving the road, after the last house and just before a bridge over a stream - the Clot de la Canova - we take a wide path on the left. Follow it for half a kilometre before turning off onto a steep path on the left that leads to a track. We will take a couple of shortcuts, but finally we will follow the track that climbs up - drawing horseshoes - to the Serra de Ferrerós. We crown a pass at 565m where there is a crossroads of tracks, we go to the right. In 10 minutes more we gain the Coll de Ferrerós (595m)Here again we find another crossroads, which we take to the left. We face a small descent and continue uphill on the road to...

📌 (1h50min; 5,0 kms) Sant Feliu de Carbonils (630m). We will have to turn off a few metres to see the 11th century Romanesque hermitage. We continue and in 7 minutes we reach the Coll de Can Roquill. On the left we leave the Refugio de Seglar, it seems to be private, it has source 💧The water probably comes from the rainwater that collects on the roof. We continue along the track in progressive ascent until we reach...

📌 (2h15min; 6,9 kms) La Trilla (687m). We leave the track, next to the path there is a closed house, the one behind is in ruins. The path enters the forest, we pass a hill and now we descend until we reach a track on which we can see the Collada de la Capella (521m). We follow it to the left, but just 100m later, it leaves the path to take a path to the right. Follow this path for another 100m and take a path to the left that leads through a leafy forest to the bottom of a small valley. Finally, you come out onto a wider path. Pay close attention here and shortly afterwards take a path to the left that ascends in search of the track that you left earlier and that will lead you to the Sant Andreu de Oliveda Hermitage without getting lost.

📌 (3h50min; 12,8 kms) Sant Andreu de Oliveda (387m). We leave the hermitage on the left and leave the asphalted road to take a track on the right that descends steeply and takes us to the...

📌 (4h15min; 14,4 kms) Molí d'en Robert (227m). Bar and swimming pools. Shortly after, leave the track that leads to Maçanet and take a path on the left that climbs rapidly and shortens the route by a few kilometres. You come out onto a path and then onto the track that leads to Maçanet. Cross an area of chalets and head towards the village in search of the road (GI-503) coming from Figueres.

📌 (5h00min; 17,5 kms) Maçanet de Cabrenys (348m). Follow the Figueres road for 0.5kms until you reach a path that goes off to the left and enters a small area of cressland adorned by a beautiful cork oak forest. Font del Carme 💧. We soon come out onto the road that leads to La Vajol. The GR has been modified in this section to avoid the road and the new route, although more beautiful, is much longer. The path enters the forest, the crossroads come and go and the direction is constantly changing, fortunately the signposting is good - in this section we find another signpost. source 💧-. We come out again on the road that goes from Maçanet to La Jonquera/Figueres.

📌 (6h00min; 21,2 kms) Pont del Grau (258m). You cross the road bridge over the Riera del Mas Castells stream and finally tackle the ascent to La Vajol. The path climbs quickly and it is not long before you reach the top.

In the area there are several abandoned talc mines, one of them, the Mina Canta or Mina d'en Negrin, through which we will pass, went down in history when, at the outbreak of the Civil War, Joan Negrin (president of the government between 1937 and 1939) sent a consignment of paintings from the Prado Museum and a treasure of five hundred million dollars.

Shortly after passing the mine we come out onto the road to La Vajol, which we follow to the right.
